Salts Mill

Salts Mill
Saltaire Village is near Bradford in West Yorkshire, England.
It is named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill and this village on the River Aire.

Sir Titus Salt had a vision of creating a community that would house the workers as well as give them good working conditions.  He built parks, infirmaries, housing, church, social hall, eating building for his workers.  He manufactured worsted wool and even imported alpaca wool from Peru.   It was a perfect location because the mill was close to the Leeds Liverpool Canal and the railroad station.
